Marianne Virgili is a distinguished leader in the scenic community of Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where she serves in a myriad of professional and volunteer roles. Marianne Virgili serves as the President and CEO of the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association. Marianne Virgili joined the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association in 1984, and under her tenure the program has received numerous accolades at the national, state, and local levels. In her capacity as President and CEO, Marianne Virgili manages a staff of eight and oversees program development as well as the budget, ongoing operations, and the Visitor Center. Glenwood Springs is renowned for its breathtaking beauty and is therefore a highly desirable tourist destination. Marianne Virgili is a Certified Chamber of Commerce Executive and graduate of the Institute for Organization Management. Under Marianne Virgili’s visionary leadership as President and CEO, the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association has been honored three times as one of the top three small- or medium-sized Chambers in the nation. Notably, the publication The Official Insider’s Guide to Glenwood Springs, which Marianne Virgili edits and publishes, won the North American Travel Journalists Association’s award for best publication writing. Marianne Virgili herself has won many honors and awards for her philanthropic contributions to her community, including the coveted Daily Point of Light award from President Bill Clinton and the Governor’s Outstanding Colorado Youth Philanthropy Award. In 2009, the Ford Foundation Fellowship for Regional Sustainable Development named Marianne Virgili a Ford Fellow. A committed and generous volunteer in her community, Marianne Virgili serves as Film Commissioner for the Glenwood Springs Film Commission. Contributing considerable time and energy to a number of community organizations, Marianne Virgili acts as Chair of the United States Chamber of Commerce’s West Institute for Organization Management and serves on the Board of the Colorado Film Commission. In both volunteer and professional capacities, Marianne Virgili works to develop projects that are sustainable, commerce-oriented, and focused on the improvement of life for residents of Glenwood Springs. An outstanding student and leader throughout her undergraduate career, Marianne Virgili received a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Public Relations from Kent State University.
